Since Hurricane Isaac just stormed through my neck of the woods and is now on his way to the coast of MS and LA I thought it would be fitting to explore what the weather in our dreams means, particularly hurricanes. The following is an excerpt from the weather chapter of my latest book Dream On It, Unlock Your Dreams Change Your Life…

Tornado and hurricane dreams both reflect the storm of worry that fill our mind from time to time. But there is a distinct difference between the meaning of a hurricane dream versus the meaning of a tornado dream, and the difference lies in the nature of the storms. A tornado is unpredictable, and you can see it coming but you never know if you will wind up in its path or not. A hurricane covers a broad area and its main characteristic is its powerful wind. And the wind is the key to the meaning of this dream. To the dreaming mind, wind represents the forceful changes that blow through our lives, “the winds of change” so to speak. When the wind in your dream is threatening, such as the winds of a hurricane, then the changes that are happening in waking life are upsetting you.

I dreamed my husband and I were trapped in a grocery store during a hurricane and could not find our son. It really bothered me.
– Chrissy 30

Lauri: Your inner mind must be feeling that you aren’t spending enough time with your son for some reason and that is where the missing comes in to play. You “miss” him. The hurricane tells us a big change has blown into your life, a change involving your son that is upsetting to you. This all takes place in a grocery store because you are hungry for the emotional nourishment your relationship with him provides.

Chrissy replies: My son just started kindergarten so you are right. We do not have the time together anymore that we are used to and I have been having a hard time adjusting.

Even though we love to watch our children grow and develop, a part of us resists the changes because it means that, before we know it, our baby will be an adult and no longer in need of our cuddles and care. Chrissy’s dream reflects her inner awareness of how fast the changes her son is going through are blowing through her life.

The message of hurricane dreams: The winds of change are upon you and are causing you a tremendous amount of upset. The more you resist the changes the more difficult they become just as it is harder to walk against the wind than with it. Rather than evacuate these hurricane force winds of change, prepare for it and withstand it. And remember, the eye or center of the hurricane is the calmest point, if you can center yourself you too will find peace despite the changes whirling around you.

Weather changes from one day to the next, even from one moment to the next, and so do our emotions. To the dreaming mind, our emotions are the weather conditions that form and flow within our psyche. Just as a meteorologist tracks the weather in order to keep us informed and prepared to handle the days ahead, so should we track and understand our psychological weather to keep us informed and prepared to handle our lives If you pay attention, your own dreaming mind will give you the most accurate and reliable emotional forecast available.

The weather chapter of Dream On It also covers: Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Rain, Floods, Lightning, Snow, Ice, Sun, and Rainbows

Your dreams don’t just have meaning, they also have important advice, solutions and even warnings for your life! But you won’t get those powerful made-for-you messages if you don’t know how to understand your dreams. Fear not! I’ve written three books that will help you to easily figure out your dreams every morning. Consider them dream insurance. Keeping a dream book by your bedside will ensure that the next time you wake up from a troubling or recurring dream, you can just grab the book and quickly figure it out instead of letting it bother you all day!

Most people are unable to see themselves in a mirror when they dream… or when they do, they tend to look really strange! We rarely look like ourselves when we look into a dream mirror. The reason why is because our dreaming mind looks at our self psychologically, not physically. Below is a good example of how our dream reflections work. This is from my nationally syndicated column The Dream Zone…

Dear Lauri,
I dreamed I was choking on something I drank. When I looked in the mirror, I saw all these veins of blue all over my face. The veins were heavier on the left side than the right. I was freaked out by the veins so I woke myself up – Nikole 35, Memphis, TN

Lauri: Like a mirror, dreams are a reflection of what’s really going on in our life as well as what is going on within the self. Your dream seems to suggest that you may have recently choked on your words in some way. Is there something you need or want to say but can’t or didn’t? When a dream draws attention to the face, it usually means there is a reality you need to face, and your dream mirror is showing you that reality quite clearly. What you see in the mirror is not a commentary on your physical appearance but rather a reflection of your psychological state at the the time of the dream. That being said, the veins on your face are more likely a play on words and mean vain. Are you afraid that speaking up about a certain issue may have been “in vain?”

Nikole replies: This is too funny. There’s definitely a situation I could’ve handled differently. I could’ve spoken my mind but decided it would be in vain and not worth the trouble. Funny how I missed the literal translation because I was so focused on the color blue. I didn’t explicitly tell someone how I felt about their actions and I just let the friendship end quietly. It wasn’t worth the effort when I looked at it as a whole.

Lauri replies: That may be why the veins were heavier on the left side of your face. Through the dream you were probably “facing” the reality that this issue would be better “left” alone.

Nikole replies: That makes perfect sense. Thanks for making it all so clear.

Find out what your dream means instantly and for free!

Speaking of clear, being able to understand your dreams will bring clarity to your life. You will develop a much deeper understanding of yourself, your behavior and of the world and the people around you. Problems and difficulties can be solved with confidence and ease. That’s why when we have a tough issue to figure out we say, “let me sleep on it.” What we’re really saying is, “Let me Dream On It!” Grab your copy of my latest book Dream On It today and understand your dreams like never before!

“I love Dream On It! I have referred to it for a different reason every single day since I got it. It’s been very eye-opening and all the girls in my office want to borrow it. I love how Lauri writes and breaks everything down into simple terms.” – Heather, Wichita, KS

Your kid’s not doing well in school, your workload at your job has doubled because some of your co-workers were let go, you’re not sure you’re going to be able to pay the rent on time this month and your mother in-law won’t stop meddling… grrrr! At least you can escape all this stress at bedtime. Well, maybe not. Unfortunately, the stress we deal with during the day tends to follow us to bed at night and plays out in our dreams. Can we ever escape? Why yes, yes we can. Our stressed out dreams are actually giving us clues on how to deal with and manage our waking life stresses… once we can understand them.

Below are the five most common stress dreams we all get, what particular stress they are connected to and the lessons they provide.

Missing a plane or bus – If this is your stress dream, you’re in good company! Diane Sawyer once told me she gets this dream. The stress this dream is connected to is deadline stress. Perhaps you’re like Diane and your job consists of constant deadlines you have to meet. Otherwise, this dream can be connected to self imposed deadlines such as losing a certain amount of weight in time for the office Christmas party or reaching a career goal by a certain age, etc.

The lesson – Time is slippery and often gets away from us. This dream is letting you know you’d best be on your toes and learn how to manage your time and do what is necessary so you can meet that deadline or grab that opportunity when it comes your way because it will be here before you know it.

Losing your car or car gets stolen – This stress dream is connected to uncertainty or loss of motivation. Your car represents your “drive” and motivation to continue to move forward in some area. If this is your stress dream you need to ask yourself what in your life you no longer have the desire to continue with. Is it your job? A relationship? A project? If that doesn’t fit, ask yourself what is causing you to feel uncertain and directionless. Maybe you can’t find a job and no longer know what to do or perhaps your kids are unruly and you don’t know which path to take in order to deal with them.

The lesson – Whether it’s lack of motivation or uncertainty, your dreaming mind wants you to find a new path, and get your drive or mojo back, which is why it keeps taking your car away from you in your dream. Time to try something different because the direction you are headed in now isn’t going to get you anywhere.

Tidal wave – If this is your stress dream then you have something in common with CNN’s Piers Morgan because he gets it too! The stress this dream is connected to is being overwhelmed by too many responsibilities. Just as the tidal wave surges over your head and threatens to sweep you away, so are you getting in over your head in waking life responsibilities that threaten to pull you away from any down time. Less often, this dream can be connected to an emotional situation that is overwhelming you. If you suffer from depression or anxiety, these dreams can be a heads up than another bout is on the way so prepare!

The lesson – Like the wave, your dream is showing you that your responsibilities or your anxiety are getting bigger than you are. It’s time to take something off your plate, ask for help or delegate some of your responsibilities to someone else. If it’s anxiety or depression, make plans to go see a comedy or spend some time outside with friends who make you laugh. Like the wave, if you don’t lighten your load or lighten your mood… you are headed for a crash!

Tornadoes – Weather in dreams is connected to your emotions because your emotions are the weather of your mind. The tornado represents worry and anxiety that is beginning to spin out of control. People who frequently get the tornado dream are also proud card carrying members of the worry wart club! These dreams are a reflection of what is really going on inside their psyche and are showing the dreamer that – just like a tornado – worry and anxiety is a destructive force.

The lesson – Time to channel your inner storm chaser and meet your worries head on and think of Dorothy. On the other side of her tornado was a magical place called Oz, and once you ride out your current storm of worry, there will be a magical place for you too… called “peace of mind.”

House fire – This is the classic stressed to the max dream! This dream is not connected to any one particular stress but rather is a warning sign that you are on complete overload. You see, your house, to the dreaming mind, is you! It is your state of mind, your personality construct. If your house, or any house for that matter, is on fire in a dream it means you have reached a frantic state of mind and are in urgent need of a cool down.

The lesson – You are on the verge of being completely and utterly “burnt” out. Your dreaming mind can’t scream any louder than this dream so now more than ever you MUST get some me time. Have the kids stay the night with grandma, turn your phone off, whatever it takes, just find a way to unwind before you become a burnt out hollow shell yourself.

Stress and anxiety are growing problems in this day and age. Pay attention to your dreams because they can let you know what is going on with your health and stress before you notice the signs. Keeping a dream journal in tandem with a day journal will help you connect the dots between your stress dreams and the waking events that trigger them. Being able to monitor and manage your stress, depression and anxiety is the key to overcoming them, and your dreams are happy to help you out!

I am forever beating the drum about how our dreams help us to improve every area of our lives, especially the relationship area. Below is a recent example of this. A single mom had been struggling with a relationship for quite some time; she was unsure if she should continue to give it effort or not… and then she had this dream:

Dear Lauri,
I dreamed I was walking and bare foot. Then a clear white spider jumped on me and bit the bottom of my foot. I tried to peel it off of me only to have it jump and bite my hand. I had to peel it off my right pointer finger like Velcro. – Jessica 35, Aurora, CO

Lauri: Has something or someone been bugging you lately? That’s what bugs in dreams typically mean. But spiders, in particular, can also symbolize deceit, someone who spins a web of lies. Since the spider was clear, I’m wondering if you are feeling bit by something that should have been clear to you. It seems you need to “put your foot down” once and for all. Since your index finger is a focus in this dream, it may have to do with discipline or blame as that is what we use that finger for: to nag, to tell people what to do as well as to point something out. It’s your right finger so you must feel you are in the right. Has there been lying going on around you? And if so, did this happen twice since the spider bit you twice (your hand and then your foot)? The Velcro quality of the spider makes me think someone is clinging to you… or the after effects are. PLUS velcro goes both ways, both sides are active, which means both sides are active in the issues within this relationship. I believe your dream is telling you that you should have “put your foot down” about this a while ago.

Jessica replies: The guy I’m seeing says one thing, then completely contradicts himself. You are right that I should have known better, but I have been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. We have known each other for almost a decade and had a physical relationship in the beginning, parted ways then caught back up. Now he says he’s “always had feelings” etc. but every time he said “I would like to see you,” I offer an idea and he flakes out. He also says he would do anything for me but when I make a joke he says “I’m done”. At this point I’m done. Yet he continues to “confess” his love. I blame myself because this should have been “clear” to me sooner. Thank you!

Jessica’s dream is showing her that her boyfriend is behaving like the spider in the dream, his behavior keeps biting her and will likely continue to do so unless she “exterminates” what has become a pesky situation in her life.

This is how your dreams are working for you too. They will show you your current situation, and your relationship, in the form of a story in order to give you a different perspective so you can better understand your situation and make a better decision on it. Now that Jessica can see her boyfriend as a pesky little spider with a chronic biting problem, she knows he is not for her and adds nothing but pain to her life.

This blog post is dedicated to all those brave warriors who are out there fighting for our freedom day and night. While we all have our own difficult personal battles, the battles you fight… well, God bless you and thank you!!

The following is an excerpt from my latest book Dream On It, Unlock Your Dreams Change Your Life…

Remember that Pat Benatar song from the eighties, “Love is a Battlefield?” It’s all about the power struggle and tug of war of emotions within a relationship. Basically, whether it is two countries or two people, all wars are a struggle for power. When there is a power struggle somewhere in your life, your dreams are likely to take place in a war zone in order to drive home the message that the situation has reached a volatile level.

Many of my dreams are in the past, like in the Civil War or World War II. I can see the gunfire and death and I am always running and running. I don’t know why I run or who or what is chasing me. I always wake up exhausted from the running. – Mary Ann 44

Lauri: Dreaming of the past doesn’t necessarily mean you are seeing a past life, but rather your dream is commenting on something from YOUR past. The settings of your dreams are always a war, which means there is a battle from your past that you are still fighting to this day. It is something you are continually “running from” or avoiding dealing with in waking life… and that is why you keep dreaming the same thing over and over again. Your dreams cannot move forward until you move forward. Clearly there is something from your past you are avoiding rather than confronting and working through. When you get help with this, when you finally face it and stop running, your dreams will stop.

Mary Ann replies: I think this goes back to my first health issues. I have had twenty surgeries, ten on my lower back, seven for an artificial hip and the rest for different things. I believe my war dreams started when I had one of my many hip surgeries; I freaked out and literally ran out of the hospital. Whenever I need another surgery I freak and want to run. I had back surgery in January but called and cancelled the surgery. That same day I got a calming phone call from my surgeon and we re-booked the surgery. I am tired of running. I will now face my health issues straight on.

Mary Ann’s health is a war zone. She’s not only battling physical ailments but she is battling herself over getting the proper care she needs. She is having a power struggle between what she knows is the right thing to do and not wanting to do it. But now that she finally understands her dreams, she can see that she has waged a war on herself! That is surely no way to go through life.

The message of battlefield dreams: There is a war going on in some area of your life. What or whom are you in conflict with? Is it an inner battle, such as battling an addiction? Or is there a war of words you are in with someone else? Where is the power struggle? It is time to decide if you should go into soldier mode and fight the good fight or raise the white flag and sign the peace treaty. While there may never be world peace, t’is a good thing to have inner peace.

Your dreams are trying to help you with every area of your life. When you can understand your dreams you will find that they are helping you to move on from the past, they are giving you warnings about issues you need to be more aware of, they are giving you advice that will improve your relationships and are even giving you great ideas and inspiration for your projects and artistic endeavors. Your dreams are far more powerful than you may realize… in fact, they are the most powerful part of you!

I am more than happy to personally help you understand your dreams.

Or you can grab yourself a copy of one of my dream books and easily learn how to understand your dreams for yourself. They make great gifts too!

Weather changes from one day to the next, even from one moment to the next, and so do our emotions. To the dreaming mind, our emotions are the weather conditions that form and flow within our psyche. Just as a meteorologist tracks the weather in order to keep us informed and prepared to handle the days ahead, so should we track and understand our psychological weather to keep us informed and prepared to handle our lives. If you pay attention, your own dreaming mind will give you the most accurate and reliable emotional forecast available.

The other day I was doing my regular Tuesday morning appearance on WIFC with Dave and Stacy in Wausau, WI when a listener named Lisa called in with her tornado dream. Listen to the audio below as I break down her dream for her. You’ll find out what emotional issue in her life these tornadoes are connected to, which will help you understand your own tornado dreams, and the very important message they have for her. I also reveal one of my 10 Rules To Remember when decoding your dream.

As frightening as tornado dreams can be, they are actually good for you because they are alerting you to the fact that you are letting your worry and anxiety get the best of you… and like Lisa’s dream, it is often worry and anxiety over something that you may not be able to do anything about. Your dream is showing you your own worry in the form of a tornado so that you can understand the destructive force it has on your psyche.

Or you can set up a private session with me and I will personally untangle your dream for you, I’ll explain every single symbol, reveal the issue in your life your dream is connected to AND show you the answer or solution your dream is giving you. Being able to understand your dreams is a far more powerful thing than you may realize… and I’ll go even more in-depth with you than what you heard in this audio clip.

“I got so much more than I expected from your interpretation. I was happily surprised at the amount of time and detail you put into making sense of my dream for me. I learned that what I thought was a disturbing dream actually has a positive message for a stressful situation in my life. I feel confident in how to proceed and my optimism is returning. Thank you, Lauri!”

Today I am pleased to have a guest blogger. Her name is Wendi. She is a lovely young lady in her early 20’s. She also has autism and is pretty darn brilliant! She has read my books and has been having regular dream readings with me and has really got a good grasp on the way the dreaming mind works. I’ve been super impressed with Wendi’s dedication to her dreaming mind. So much so that I asked her to write a guest blog so that you dreamers out there can see how powerful your dreams are… once you can understand them. Take it from here Wendi…

The following nightmares are based off of a real, waking life event. They are a perfect example of how something in waking life can cause nightmares, but do not mean we are deranged and horrible people for having nightmares. Better yet, I’ll tell you just why nightmares are good for us AND how I found the positive message concealed within its horrifying elements.

The Dream: It features Disney’s “Megamind”. Once an ordinary civilian citizen of Metrocity, accidentally given super powers via reformed villain Megamind, is using his new powers…but not for any good to many in the city! Laser vision sets buildings, homes and many miles a flame, superior strength to enslave many innocent men, women and even children, putting them work for his army of global conquest. This city, once a place of peace and heroic determination to better the lives of millions, now in flames, smoke and destruction. My place? In a several story house, a skyscraper Victorian house, built on to the Metro Tower. I am running up flights of stairs, hoping to get to the top. I hope, I only hope if I can be heard, the true hero of this city will rescue me. A horrid shaking of the ground, several feet below make me lose footing, I fall but catch myself and finally make it to the top.

I have plan set forth. I’ll wait five to ten minutes for a hero, either Megamind or the long thought dead retired super hero Metroman will hear me and come to my aid, or I shall jump to my death. I call for help, hoping one of the heroes will hear me. Wait…someone is coming! I’m saved! Or…am I? To my dismal dismay, the once thought super hero, now turned villain comes to my door, several feet below. “Ovre le porte!” he screams. I know French…he wants me to open the door…to let him in? Why would he want to come inside? To kidnap me? Theft? Rape?!? I refuse to listen. I panic, trying to open the window but it won’t give! I panic more, now in a screaming frenzy, beating and kicking the glass as hard as I can and screaming the entire time, but still…nothing. He is down below at the door and punches a hole through it, rendering the doorknob to shattered bits of metal. In a haste, he retreats but comes back within seconds and rams into the building. I, desperately trying to commit suicide, resist. Maybe if I wait a little longer I will get a rescue? Getting close to the ground. Giving up.

The window won’t open. Instead, I wait until the building makes it’s own fall and I am nothing but a lifeless force in the pile of rubble. It is not so. The building disintegrates around me, but I am fully exposed, helpless, powerless. I hear footsteps…panicking, for it’s not my hero. A hand overturns me and I am staring into the blazing red glowing laser lit eyes of my enemy, prepared to vaporize, or worse…burn me alive. He grips my collar and pulls me face to face. I don’t put up a fight. I do, however make one request. “Please…if you’re going to kill me…please make it as quick and as painless as you can.” I don’t even know, despite his superior hearing if I had heard me. “You can guarantee that I won’t.” He scorns. Suddenly, I feel pain on my entire right side of my face. That entire side had been scraped off during my fall. Now I can feel his fingers gripping my intestines and he tears them out in one swift move. I cry out, a massive amount of blood and vomit collect in my mouth, drowning my scream…getting lightheaded, a massive headache settling in, vision blurring…eyes rolling upward…I surrender to unconsciousness.

Coming to…in a familiar location…Megamind’s secret lair? I am being dragged along by the villain, and Megamind, as well as girlfriend (and Titans’ ex-girlfriend) are laying on tables, side by side, bleeding and bruised, both half unconscious from what I can determine to be pain and blood loss. I am horrified. They are being held captive and are being subjected to experiments of torture…oh God it just hit me…I am next! I cry and scream, leaping awake in a sweating panic.

The analysis: As you might have observed, the dream is about someone at my work. This is why it has a certain theme: me being oppressed by a villain, more specifically, a villain who was once good! So why this particular villain?

One reason is because when I first met her, she seemed to be a good match, but one’s views can change over prolonged exposure! Not only that, but at the time before the nightmares, I had been talking over my complications with my psychologist and my dad, two of which told me it would a “good” idea for me to stay with her, so that I could learn how to deal being around difficult people. While this sounded good while I was AWAKE, remember, YOU ARE YOUR MOST AWAKE WHEN YOU ARE DREAMING!!!

So I wanted to impress them. I wanted to show them that I could do it, that I was strong enough to take it. My wiser inner self knew better! Even though we commonly seek out advice from others, their advice is nothing compared to your own internal advice. YOU know YOU better than anyone else. So while my psychologist was explaining to me my situation (and why she thought I should stick it out) it did sound reasonable. I knew better.

1. I was living in the highest tower in the dream. I had reached my highest point. I was at my wits end about this. It came crashing down because that was how I was feeling in waking life, trying to escape yet never succeeding.

2. I was trying to commit suicide. Some of you out there might think to yourself “wow! She needs help if she’s having suicidal dreams!” Tis not so. While we are running around fearing that suicide in our dreams means suicide in real life, first ask yourself “am I or a loved one contemplating suicide?” if so, then it’s your dreaming mind telling you if it is a good idea or not and how you can help. But if you are NOT then let’s look at it differently.

I was attempting suicide because I needed out. Not out of life, but out of the psychological pain. It also means that I was needing to “put to rest” an issue. Note how panicked I was? The emotions in the dream are directly connected to feelings we have in real life, only maybe not as dramatic. I knew by the terror, this was no little issue, despite the fact it didn’t seem that bad while I was awake, because it’s typical for us to dismiss feelings in waking life that we need to pay attention to! The panic in the dream was simple: I was feeling panic every day I was with her. I knew by this time I was on to something!

This for me was a big change, however, further I found out not only that, but it was because, like I was waiting to be rescued in my dream I was waiting to rescued in real life instead of doing it myself! I didn’t succeed in committing suicide because I wasn’t able to free myself from this situation.

Thank you Wendi! In a nutshell, what Wendi learned from this dream is that her work situation was very unhealthy for her and she needed to get out of it, despite what her parents and her therapist were telling her. Her inner dreaming mind knew better. I’m happy to say that since this dream, Wendi has a new supervisor and is feeling much more at home at work. Why? Because she paid attention to her dream, was able to understand it and took action on its message.

Your dreams are doing this for you too, giving you warnings and answers you need to pay attention so that you can improve your life. My books have helped Wendi get her dreams messages and they’ll help you too!

If you’ve ever been shot in a dream, you’d swear it felt like the real thing! You can feel the bullet pierce and penetrate your body, you can feel the warm blood running down. Sometimes, you can even feel your body die and your soul beginning to separate. It’s CRAZY how HD our dreams can be. These dreams are so real and so vivid one can’t help but wonder if perhaps we are dreaming the future.

Last week on my Blogtalk show The Dream Zone a lady named Ebony called in. She had been having a recurring dream EVERY NIGHT for a month that she gets shot in the stomach and dies. Naturally, she needed answers… and answers she got!!

As you heard, she not only got answers, she got relief. And who knows, perhaps this little conversation will help her get her some babies as well!

You may have also noticed that it was very significant that she got shot in the stomach. As I always say, nothing in a dream is random. Where the bullet hits you in your body is important. For example, getting shot in the head can mean someone has taken a shot at your ego or intellect. Getting shot in the heart can mean someone has emotionally wounded you, to the point of heart break. Again, every single detail in your dream has a meaning and can be connected to what is currently going on in your life. When you can understand the symbols in your dreams and are able to connect them to each other and to your life, what you are left with is an unbelievably powerful message from you, to you, about you. A message you need to know.

I can personally walk you through your dream, help you understand every single detail of it and the messages waiting for you in it. It is a much bigger deal to be able to understand your dreams than you think… particularly if you are getting recurring disturbing dreams. THOSE are screaming for you to pay attention to them. I can help. I’m the best in the business. You’ll be glad you came to me, dahling. You’ll be very glad.

“Thank you SO MUCH for this FASCINATING interpretation!!! You completely put my mind at ease as I slapped my forehead and said, “Of COURSE!! It all makes sense now!!” Everything you suggested fits so perfectly! I feel like I just had a wonderful session with my favorite therapist! Thank you thank you again!!!” – Jeane, Rockford, MI

“After waking from my dream I kept thinking how completely odd it was, but that it must have been important. You were able to take the guts of my dream and pull the message from it for me. This dream is now a significant part of my life. I’m so glad I talked to you!” – Sarah Boynton, Salt Lake City, UT

“WOW! You’re amazing Lauri! Thank you SO MUCH! Your insights made SO MUCH SENSE! I’m SO GLAD I turned to you to not only help me ‘SEE’ things in a different light, but oh boy do I see them clearer! You’re AWESOME Lauri!! Thanks!! *Big Hug*” – Jennifer, Holt, MI

I’ve heard a loooooooot of crazy dreams in my career and, admittedly, I’ve become fairly immune to the shocking content of most dreams. However, I cannot say the same thing for the real life stories behind the dreams. The issues that cause the dreams are what sometimes cause my jaw to drop. Listen to this dream below, and in particular, the dreamer’s real life situation. If your jaw doesn’t drop then you may want to check and see if you have a pulse! Also, you may notice a couple moments of what seem like dead air. That’s where my jaw dropped! I’m pretty sure my co-host Frankie’s jaw had hit the floor too. It takes a while to pick ’em back up and set them back into place!

This is from last week on my blogtalk show The Dream Zone…
Poor Cheryl. As much as I really, truly feel for her, she is the one allowing herself to be in that situation, and her dream is clearly showing her that she can’t survive much more of it, just as her body wouldn’t be able to survive many more bullet holes. Like I say in my latest book Dream On It, Unlock Your Dreams Change Your Life, “Our dreams will be brutally honest with us when our waking mind refuses to be.” That’s what scary dreams are all about, they are often the inner dreaming mind’s way of trying to scare us into reality. Hopefully this dream did its job. Oy Cheryl. What am I going to do with you??

“Lauri still reading Dream On It can’t put it down. I’ve been dreaming a lot more or remembering them since I started to read it, but now my dreams are making sense.

There’s nothing more annoying than a roach scurrying across the floor, or an army of ants invading the pantry, or a swarm of mosquitoes chomping on everyone at your Barbecue. That is why, when we get annoyed over situations or people that pester and infest our mental space, we say that something or someone is really “bugging” us. This is also when these little suckers will creep and crawl into our dreams.

The type of bug in your dream is also important as it will give you even more information as to what or whom is bugging you in real life. Spiders are one of the more common bugs we will find in our dream scape. Read on to find out why. This is from my nationally syndicated column, The Dream Zone…

Dear Lauri: In the corner of a cardboard box was an enormous spider the size of my hand. I tried to kill it with one of those liquidizing wands. I tried about three times to kill the spider. As hard as I tried the spider was not in the least hurt nor threatened. It didn’t run away it just stood its ground and never moved. – Greer 61, Surrey, England

Lauri: When bugs infest our dreams, it’s a good indication that something or someone is really bugging us in waking life. Spiders in particular often are connected to deceit, a web of lies woven by someone around you. It is significant that you associated the spider with the size of your hand. This is the way your dream is trying to show you that this situation is absolutely something you can “handle.” The fact that you tried three times to kill the spider suggests that in waking life you attempted to put an end to this situation to no avail. Who has stood their ground with you? The cardboard box is important. A lot of times, when we dream of card board it is connected to money issues. It could also be related to you needing “to move” on (as we use card board boxes to pack and move) from this person or situation. It seems the message is change your tactics or move on, otherwise things will never change.

Greer replies: I think you have just about got it right. I was in a job situation where a colleague was on my case, no matter what I did or said would budge him. One time he even shoulder butted me. I am in the process of moving house, now that I have lost my job, I can’t afford to live at my present location in London. You are quite right. I know I have to alter my strategy and move on.

Your dreams don’t have to bug you anymore! Imagine being able to easily figure them out every single morning! Figuring out your dreams is not only fun, it provides you with priceless information and advice you need for your life.

Grab yourself a copy of of my latest book Dream On It and you’ll easily understand your dreams every morning and get a HUGE edge in life.

“Wow, what an amazing book so full of information! I will def be keeping this one on my nightstand and refer to it often!” – Kristi Roach, Angola, IN
