Analyze this for me: I'm always in my old house from 20 yrs ago and its always night time or dark. In my mind its important that it be dark while I'm looking for something that wasn't discovered by its new owners, a shard of my time there manifested into an unknown object I owned during my time there that I can Lucidly bring back to my present day. I'm aware that I'm there looking but I feel as if I'm Re-inhabiting the old home believing the new owners moved out so I can finally get back in to find something. In reality, While my time there was wonderful, it was also incredibly brief. 1-2 yrs of joy followed by 6 -12 months of self induced pain and regret of which time I could not rescue us knowing that our days there were numbered because we couldn't make the necessary changes to keep our new home. FF 20+ years and we now live in a much greater home just as worthy of good memories but I'm still plagued by what could have been and never survived. If my current circumstances are so great, why then do I always subconsciously want to be back at the old house in PTC? Its like an unnamed ghost that wont die. A part of me that is no more because of time & tide. An aching nostalgia of what once was, but cannot be again because of the passage of time. The house has since been completely remodeled and though my mind knows that its now impossible to turn over any old stones or uncover something of mine otherwise unseen by its tenants of 20 yrs but yet In my lucid dream I'm still looking in the dark in an unquenchable search of futility fearful that the sun will rise on me before my due time. I wake up in tears full of lamentation all day and the waking day is scented w/ that nostalgic bittersweet lamentation as if I want to return there but know I cant. This pain survives until broken by the cycle of sleep and is always re-manifested as it has been for the last 20 yrs. Its haunted me for 20+ years destroying my peace even unto the desire to die. The regret is not being there now.

I have had a very similar reoccurring dream for many years. I go back to previous homes where I have lived and I have belongings there. I can't stay because I owe money to a bank or someone or new people are living there.

Ive had this disturbing, anxious recurring dream for years as well, where the new owner would catch me in their home. I was told by someone that I entered a parallel universe through my dream. That in another life, I had not moved from the home, but stayed there. And that I had gained access into that other world. That there was really nothing to be fearful of in being "caught" trespassing inside a home that was no longer mine.

I keep having reoccurring nightmares of a house I lived in for 10 years that I used to deal lots of shit in n I went through hell in it. My mother died when I lived in that house I seen soo so so much in that place. I been with many woman growing up in that house I just seen too much living there. Fast forward 3-6 years here I am. Finally got my first car signed my first lease just recently and life’s been good I have a decent job that’s providing me money. I don’t know why these dreams occur or maybe like you said it’s possibly what I just need to leave behind. It’s scary though because these nightmares are always different scenarios bad ones but in the same house that my mind creates. Sorry to add a bit different of a comment here but god. I just needed to vent only if just one person reads this comment. I believe I am traumatized from my past but moving forward has been odd n being successful for once in my life. Any insight?

Hi there. Not sure if you would like to still suss this out, (since it's almost 2 years later.) But I'm willing to analyze this with you, if you want. I'm curious about the room you weren't allowed in, in waking life, and have several questions surrounding that. I feel that room is a key component to something very important.

                           Best Regards,

I have similar dreams where I return to my old house of 12 years which is now a rental. It's never the same dream but I'm always concerned about the condition of the house and renter living there. One time I dreamed of sneaking into the house and falling asleep with the renters there. I wake up and sneak out. I think in my waking life I miss being single with no responsibilities. I lived in that house for ten years before getting married. I had many great memories in that house. Now a single guy lives there and last time I visited I was a little jealous.
